The CarAlgo Dongle
Presentation
CarAlgo is an OBD CAN Dongle, the most compact in the world, with 6mm thickness, designed to fit discreetly in the fuse box, center console, or glove compartment. It connects to the automotive diagnostic port and retrieves vehicle data through 3 OBD communication protocols: functional CAN and manufacturer diagnostic. It uploads data to the Cloud through the smartphone via a secure Bluetooth BLE connection.
Certifications and approvals
CarAlgo is designed with certified Automotive electronic components, it is CE certified for Europe and UKCA certified for Great Britain, and it has obtained E-Mark approval under number E13-10R-0515443, proof of compliance with European regulatory provisions for motor vehicles.
Technical specifications
CarAlgo is the most efficient telematics box on the market in terms of quality/price. It is built around a Cortex M0+ core microcontroller, integrates a 3-axis accelerometer, 64Mb of memory, and OBD pin multiplexing to enable multi-brand vehicle data access.
Installation and operation
Plug and Go: during the first installation, it automatically identifies the vehicle and uploads Dataset data — odometer, fuel level, maintenance schedule, traction battery level for hybrid and electric vehicles, SOH battery health status, DTCs engine faults, etc.

Dataset, the method of retrieving vehicle data, is specific to each automotive manufacturer. Thanks to our technicians, significant reverse-engineering work has been done in the field to cover more than 95% of the global vehicle fleet.
